Senior comedian Gundu Hanumantharao, who acted in more than 400 films, passed away at his residence in Hyderabad in the wee hours of Monday. Gundu Hanumantharao was 61 and was suffering from kidney related ailments since a long time.
Gundu Hanumantharao was born in Vijayawada on 10th October 1956. He received three Nandi Awards for ‘Adhi thalam’ serial, ‘Amrutham’ serial, and ‘ Srimathi Sri Subrahmanyam’ serial. He did Anjaneyulu (Anji) character in Amrutham. The Telangana Government has recently extended financial support to Hanumanth Rao to meet out his health expenditure.
Hanumantharao had a Chocolates and Biscuits Company at Vijayawada. He has 28 year of working experience in acting. In the year of 1974, he started working on stage shows. His first role was Ravana Brahma. He was popular for several movies like Maavichiguru, Ghatotkachudu, Rikshavodu, Vajram, Shubhalagnam, Yamaleela, Gharana Alludu, Mayalodu, Criminal, Number One, Pekata Paparao, Prema Chitram Pelli Vichitram etc.
