Sonali Bendre shocked everyone by announcing on social media that she has been diagnosed with a ‘high-grade cancer’ that has metastised. She is currently undergoing a course of treatment in New York.
Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre, who is well known face for Telugu audiences, shared a post on her social media site that sent shock waves to the entire film Industry. Her fans and well wishers are wishing her a speedy recovery. Sonali Bendre wrote on her social media page, “Sometimes, when you least expect it, life throws you a curveball. I have recently been diagnosed with a high grade cancer that has metastised, which we frankly did not see coming. A niggling pain led to some tests, which led to this unexpected diagnosis. My family and close friends have rallied around me, providing the best support system that anyone can ask for. I am very blessed and thankful for each of them.
There is no better way to tackle this, than to take swift and immediate action. And so, as advised by my doctors, I am currently undergoing a course of treatment in New York. We remain optimistic and I am determined to fight every step of the way. What has helped has been the immense outpouring of love and support I’ve received over the past few days, for which I am very grateful.
I’m taking this battle head on, knowing I have the strength of my family and friends behind me.”
The news of Sonali Bendre’s cancer diagnosis shocked not just her colleagues in film industry, but her fans at large. In the past, some other Bollywood celebrities, including Manisha Koirala, Lisa Ray and Irrfan Khan among others have also battled cancer.
Sonali Bendre got married filmmaker Goldie Behl in the year 2002 and they have a son named Ranveer, who was born in 2005. In Bollywood, Sonali Bendre was last seen in Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara!, where she had a brief role opposite Akshay Kumar.
Sonali Bendre has judged several reality shows too.
Sonali Bendre has also been the part of few Telugu movies like Indra, Murari, Khadgam, Palnati Brahmanayudu and Shankar Dada MBBS. After hearing Sonali Bendre’s Cancer news, Lakshmi Manchu took to social media to speak about her.

The aim of the treatment of metastatic cancer is to slow the growth or spread of cancer. Generally treatment of metastatic cancer comprises systematic therapy, or chemotherapy or hormone therapy.
