The director Shankar is all set to own 2018 with his magnum opus '2.0'. Starring Superstar Rajinikanth in lead role and Akshay Kumar as the antagonist, the film is touted to be one of the biggest films in the history of Indian cinema and is expected to match up to SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion'.
According to the latest revelation by the creative head of Lyca Productions Raju Mahalingam, the Telugu version’s AP and Telangana theatrical rights have been sold out to Telugu film distribution company, Global Cinema for whooping price. But he did not reveal the details of the deal. Global Cinemas’ Sunil Narang and Raju Mahalingam inked the deal yesterday.
2.0 is being touted as India’s most expensive film, and the second costliest in Asia. The film is made at a whopping budget of about Rs 400 Cr using the state-of-the-art technology. It also stars Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain in important roles. The film which is scheduled to hit the theaters on 25th January 2018, has the music by Oscar award winning music composer AR Rahman.
