Veteran Bollywood actress Reema Lagoo passed away due to cardiac arrest in Mumbai at 3:30 am on Thursday morning, a family source said. She was admitted in Kokilaben hospital before she complained of chest pain.
According to Reema Lagoo’s son-in-law Vinay Waikul, when she complained of chest pain, they took her to hospital around 1 am where she passed away due to heart attack. She was 59 and her last rites will be held today. She was survived by her daughter Mrunmayee, also an actress.
She has acted in number of blockbuster movies such as Kayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Rihaee, Saajan, Gumrah, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Maine Pyar Kiya, Kal Ho Na Ho etc. The actress was famous for playing mother in movies and TV serials.
She was born Nayan Khadbade in 1958. Her mother Mandakini Bhadbhade was also an actress. Reema was also seen on the Marathi show Maanacha Muzra, which honours Marathi personalities. Recently she made a comeback on television with Mahesh Bhatt’s show Namkaran.
