Mahi V Raghav who is basking in the glory of his recently released horror drama ‘Anandao Brahma’ starring Taapsee Paanu, has bitter experiences in film Industry on various stances.
Recently during the media interaction, Mahi revealed that after the completion of MBA, he started a business but after quitting everything, he tried to test his luck in Film Industry and co-produced 'Villagelo Vinayakudu' and 'Kudirithe Kappu Coffee' in 2009 and 2011 respectively, and as a producer he lost close to Rs 7 Cr. He is one of the owners of Moonwater Pictures Production Company. Later he decided to direct the movie and delivered his first directorial venture ‘Paatashala’ starring Sai Ronak, Nandu, Shashank, Sirisha, Anu Priya, Hammood and others in 2014, which won critics praise but failed to win at the box office. The interesting concept, lead actors' performances, Rahul Raj's music, Sudheer Surendran's cinematography and its exotic locales were the main highlights of the film. Later he decided to make horror drama ‘Anando Brahma’ which emerged as a surprise blockbuster and turned out a profitable venture for the buyers.
Apart from Taapsee, the horror comedy film has other stars like Vennela Kishore, Srinivas Reddy, Shakalaka Shankar and Taguboth Ramesh in crucial role. Andano Brahma is made on the budget of Rs 3 Cr and it has fetched closer to Rs 10+ Cr including the satellite and remake rights. Now the director is planning for his next.
