The case has been posted to 17th June for the next hearing. In 2009, a leading Tamil daily published news that an actress raised the charges of prostitution on a group of fellow actors and actresses. Following strong protests from the film celebrities, the newspaper had published an apology. However, on 7th October, 2009, the South Cine Actors’ Association held a meeting in Chennai and after discussion, they organized a protest where these actors allegedly abused journalists. Following this, a senior correspondent, Rozario Mariya Susai, had filed a complaint with the Ooty Judicial magistrate against them.
