Noted Tamil actor-director Vinu Chakravarthee, passed away at 71 on 27th April in the hospital after being ill for three years. He has made over 1,000 films in four South Indian languages including 900 in Tamil, 30 in Malayalam, 5 in Telugu and one in Badaga language. He has also directed movies on his own and is credited with introducing Silk Smitha. He has won the heart of movie lovers as a comedian, villain and supporting actor.n nHe is popular for his villainous role in 80s and 90s, followed by character roles later.
