The Marathi film ‘Sairat’ starring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar, created history at box-office as it was made on the budget of Rs 4 Cr and the film ended up grossing over Rs 100 Cr. Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar is planning to remake it in Hindi and going to launch Sridevi’s daughter Jhanvi Kapoor by this remake.
Now according to the latest update, noted Kannada producer Rockline Venkatesh, who produced Rajini’s Lingaa and Ravi Teja’s Power, has acquired the Telugu and Tamil remake rights of Sairat. Rockline Venkatesh, in association with Zee Studios, has made an official announcement that he liked the film and now going to remake it in South languages. he also said, “We have already selected the cast and technicians,” Though he did not reveal the name of director and lead pair but the sources say the maker are planning to rope new faces because the storyline is not suitable for established actors. It has also come out that Nagaraj Manjule, who directed the Marathi version, is set to helm its Telugu and Tamil version also.
