Superstar Mahesh Babu's Spyder has made a decent collection at the Chennai box office, but it is unlikely to surpass the business of Thala Ajith and Kajal Aggarwal’s Vivegam. Before the release of AR Murugadoss’s directorial venture Spyder, the trade experts had predicted that there was possibilities of Spyder beating the records of Vivegam. Spyder also marks the debut of Mahesh Babu in Kollywood. Unfortunately, the collection of Spy thriller drama Spyder is no match to the business done by Vivegam, which earned close to Rs 10 Cr  till date.

Spyder was opened to mixed reviews on 27th  September. The movie had released in over 400 screens in Tamil Nadu. Mahesh promoted the film aggressively in Chennai. But the film has failed to mint good revenues in Tamilnadu. AR Murugadoss’s directorial venture Spyder has earned Rs 4.14 Cr gross in Chennai city. It is the Best performed territory in Tamil Nadu.

Spyder is considered to be a loss venture in TamilNadu. The rights of the film were bought for 18 Cr and the share is not yet crossed Rs 10 Cr.  Actress Rakul Preet Singh is playing the female lead whereas SJ Suryah will be seen playing antagonist.

Spyder 12 Days Chennai City Gross : Rs  4.14 Cr

Tamil       : Rs 3.3 Cr

Telugu     : Rs  84 lacs
