Veteran Bollywood actor Jeetendra, whose real name is Ravi Kapoor, has been accused of sexually harassing his cousin 47 years ago. Jeetendra is the son of the victim’s father’s sister.
The survivor filed a complaint with the Himachal Pradesh’s Director General of Police against the actor on Wednesday and according to it, the alleged incident took place in January 1971, when the victim was 18 years old and Jeetendra was 28 and the actor “arranged” for the survivor to join him from New Delhi to Shimla on the set of his movie without her awareness.
The victim has claimed that on the night when both reached Shimla, Jeetendra returned to the room in an inebriated state, he joined the two separate beds and sexually assaulted her.
The allegations came amidst the ‘#MeToo’ campaign as a part of which women have come forward and spoken about facing sexual assault at the hands of industry men.
On the other-side, Jeetendra has rubbished the sexual assault allegations made by his cousin.
