Mahanati- the much awaited biopic on veteran legendary actor Savitri is slated to hit the theaters on 9th May 2018. Keerthi Suresh is playing the titular role whereas Dulquer Salmaan is playing Gemini Ganesan. Samantha Akkineni and Arjun Reddy fame Vijay Deverakonda are playing the pivotal roles in Mahanati. This is the first time when Samanath and Vijay are sharing the screen space. According to the latest update, the makers have released the first look poster of Vijay Deverakonda from Mahanati and he will be seen essaying the role of Vijay Anthony. What really is intriguing is the vintage camera that is seen hanging in Vijay Deverakonda’s neck in the first look which shows that the makers have taken utmost care about the looks of each character in this biopic.
The entire shoot of the movie has been already wrapped up and currently it is on post production stage. Recently www.tollywood.net reported that Dulquer Salmaan dubbed for his character in the film and this is his debut in Telugu. Samantha plays the role of Madhuravani, a documentary filmmaker and journalist.
The biopic is directed by Nag Ashwin, who made a mark for himself as director with the Telugu movie Yevade Subramanyam and produced by Swapna Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies. Anup Rubens has composed music for this biopic. The movie has Shalini Pandey, Rajendra Prasad, Prakash Raj, Krish, Mohan Babu and Bhanu Priya in supporting roles.
