Yatra, the movie based on the padyatra of late Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh- YS Rajasekhar Reddy,has finally arrived at the theaters today. But according to the traders report, the Mahi V Raghava’s directorial venture Yatra has become fail to crush the US premieres collection records of NTR Kathanayakudu.
According to the traders report, Malayalam Megastar Mammootty starrer Yatra has collected $55,462 from 114 locations at the US box office in the premiere shows and this number is likely to go when the final figures will be released by its makers. The trade Analyst Jeevi has shared the collections figure of Yatra on his Twitter, “#Yatra hourly gross for premieres in USA on 7 February at 8:40 pm is $55,462 from 114 locations.” On the other side, NTR Kathanayakudu, the biopic of later CM of Andhra Pradesh Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, minted $476,384 at the US box office in its premiere shows on Tuesday. In this manner Yatra has become fail to beat NTR Kathanayakudu at the box office.
NTR Kathanayakudu is directed by National award winning director Krish, in which Nandamuri Balakrishna played the role of his father and legendary actor NTR whereas Vidya Balan essayed NTR’s wife.
Like Nandamuri Balakrishna and Krish, Malayalam star Mammootty and Mahi V Raghava may not have huge fan following in the US, but it was expected that Yatra would cross the premieres collection record of NTR Kathanayakudu.
