In this film Ram Charan essayed the role of a street racer called Harsha, who was a warrior named Kaala Bhairava in his previous life. Kajal portrayed his lady love Indu, who was a princess called Mitravinda Devi.
Magadheera was produced by Allu Aravind and BVSN Prasad, and it marked the maiden collaboration of SS Rajamouli and Ram Charan. The movie also starred Kajal Aggarwal, Sri Hari, and Dev Gill in key roles. The movie featured Ram Charan in a career-defining performance. SS Rajamouli’ Magadheera was Ram Charan’s second film. It also starred Chiranjeevi in a cameo. He was seen shaking legs with his son in the iconic song Bangaru Kodi Petta.
The story of Magadheera was provided by Rajamouli’s father Vijayendra Prasad, who had originally written the story for a movie that was supposed to be made many years ago with Krishna. However, the story was never used but later SS Rajamouli finally decided to make it as Magadheera.
