In Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district, a minor was raped, murdered and her body was recovered from a sugarcane field on Saturday. Two man have been arrested in this rape case. The girl’ father said that his 13 years old girl was found strangled and her eyes gouged out and tongue cut. Her post mortem has confirmed rape.
The Police said that two accused from her village had been arrested already. They would file charges for rape, murder and also under the National Security Act. The rape incident took place on Friday, around 130 km from Lucknow, in a village close to the Nepal border. Her body was found in the Sugarcane field.
The Uttar Pradesh Police said the post mortem of the girl that came out on Sunday night does not show her eyes were gouged out or tongue cut. The autopsy mentioned rape and strangulation.
SP of Kheri Satendra Kumar said, “Her eyes were not gouged and tongue was not cut. The claim is not true. There is nothing in the post-mortem report to suggest this. There were scratches near the eyes, likely due to the sharp sugarcane leaves where the body was found.”
Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati condemned the incident on Twitter and called it, “extremely shameful.”
