Nashik oxygen leak: In a shocking tragedy, as many as twenty two Coronavirus patients died today in s Nasik, Maharashtra. According to the latest reports, an oxygen tanker leaked outside a hospital in Maharashtra that resulted in disruption of oxygen supply for around thirty minutes. This accident resulted 22 Covid patients who were critical, died. The victims were being treated at the Zakir Hussain Municipal Hospital in Nashik and all of them were on ventilators who needed constant oxygen supply. Around 150 patients were either oxygen dependent or on ventilators.
Around thirty one patients out of eighty who need oxygen have been shifted to other hospitals. Maharashtra FDA minister Dr Rajendra Shingane called this accident an “unfortunate incident” and issued an order for the enquiry.
This incident in Nashik, Maharashtra comes eleven days after a massive fire broke out at the Well Treat Hospital in Nagpur on 10th April in which 4 patients including a woman lost their lives. The hospital is also treating Coronavirus patients.
Nashik district collector Suraj Mandhare said that the supply was interrupted after leakage in one of the storage tankers at Dr Zakir Hussain Municipal Hospital. Among the twenty two who lost their lives, 11 are men and 11 women.
