Venkatesh Daggubati starrer romantic and action movie Bobbili Raja completed 30 years as it was released on 14th September 1990. The movie Bobbili Raja was helmed by B Gopal and bankrolled by D Suresh Babu under the banner of Suresh productions. The film has late actress Divya Bharti as a leading lady. Venkatesh starrer Bobbili Raja marked the debut of Divya Bharti and it was recorded as a Sensational Blockbuster at the box office.
The film Bobbili Raja had a 175 day run in 3 centres and it was Venkatesh’ first silver jubilee hit movie. After the release, it became the second highest grossing Telugu film of the year, after the movie Jagadeeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari.
Venkatesh and Divya Bharti starrer Bobbili Raja was later dubbed into Tamil as Vaaliban and into Hindi as Rampur Ka Raja. It was also remade in Hindi titled Boy Friend, in which Sheeba and Ravi Behl played the lead roles.
As the romantic and action film Bobbili Raja completed 30 years/ 3 decades today, Venkatesh Daggubati went down the memory lane and expressed his happiness over the milestone. Babu Bangaram essayed the role of a fearless youngster Raja in the film. Raja, s/o Rajalaxmi fell in love with Rani, the daughter of HM, Rajeswari Devi.
