On Monday evening, a flash fire erupted at one of the blocks of the company’s API (active pharmaceutical ingredient) manufacturing plant in the Parwada Mandal area of the Anakapalli district near Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. According to the latest report, 4 employees died and one suffered serious injuries in a fiery explosion that was caused by a gas leak at a pharmacy in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.  

Around 3 pm a fire started at the Jawaharlal Nehru Pharmacy in the Anakapalli area close to Vishakapatnam. According to police sources, pharmacy employees made an effort to stop it but before they could stop the gas leak, there was also an explosion.  The reports are coming that the fire occurred due to a short circuit in Unit-3 of Laurus Company in Pharma city in Vizag. Fire  and  rescue personnel reached the spot immediately after this fire accident and brought the fire under control.

 In this fiery explosion, 4  people died, including two contract workers and 2 permanent workers. 1 person named Satish was seriously injured in this fire incident and currently he is being treated at KIMS Hospital.

The deceased were identified as Rajep Babu from Guntur, B Rambabu from Khammam, Majji Venkata Rao from Chodavaram, and R Ramakrishna from Kotapadu.
