The teaser of Kabir Khan’s highly-awaited directorial venture , the sport based drama 83 which has Ranveer Singh in the lead role released today. The trailer will release on 30th November. 83 chronicles India’s win under Kapil Dev’s captainship, when the team defeated West Indies in the final to clinch the first-ever World Cup trophy in the year 1983. Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh shared a 59 second clip on his social media that recreated the iconic dismissal of West Indies legend Vivian Richards from the match.
The teaser starts with a packed Lord’s cricket stadium where the crowd is rooting for the Indian team and then shows Madan Lal bowling to Richards. After the West Indies batsman plays a pull shot, Kapil Dev (Ranveer Singh) runs and takes the catch.
Sharing the film’s teaser, Ranveer Singh wrote: “The story behind India’s greatest victory. The greatest story. The greatest glory. ’83 releasing in cinemas on 24th December 2021.”
The film 83, which also has Pankaj Tripathi, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Nishant Dahiya, presented by Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films, will be released on 24th December in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Akkineni Nagarjuna’s Annapurna Studios and Kamal Haasan’s Raajkamal Films International have joined hands with Reliance Entertainment to present the Telugu and Tamil versions of 83.
