A low key release for Super Star film… A strategy?

Super Star Rajinikanth‘s Darbaar is the first film to arrive for Sankranthi. The film which is being directed by AR Murugadoss is coming to hit the screens on January 10th. After two days, two biggies of Tollywood, Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Naakevvaru and Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapuramulo will be arriving with sky-high expectations.

After that on 15th, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s Entha Manchivadavura will be releasing. It means there is no respite for Rajini’s film in Tollywood. Though Super Star has the top following in the Telugu States, Darbaar needs to create good buzz to withstand the competition from Mahesh and Allu Arjun.

But Darbaar is having a very low buzz in Telugu states. Many didn’t even know that Super Star’s film is releasing for Sankranthi. Why there is a low buzz for a top star like Rajinikanth, that too when the director is Murugadoss who is known to score blockbusters with stars at will. There can be two reasons behind that.

1. Makers are willingly maintaining low profile for Darbaar. They are believing that soaring expectations have ended as bad results in the past. So they are having low key release. As they are extremely confident that Darbaar is a special film in Rajini’s career they are not bothered about the low key release.

2. Rajinikanth’s recent track is not that good. His recent films have not done well in theaters. While Peta has done well in Telugu states it is not such a big hit in Telugu states, It is an average venture. AR Murugadoss also has bad track record here. His movie Spyder with Mahesh Babu is a dud here and he had to take the blame for the result.

Nayantara is playing female lead in the movie. All the post production works are going at full swing. Rajinikanth has completed dubbing for his role.
