Laya is a popular actress and Kuchipudi dancer known for her work primarily in Telugu films, alongside a few Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil films. Laya first appeared as a child actor in Bhadram Koduko which was released in 1992 and later she started working as a lead actress with Swayamvaram in 1999. Laya won two Nandi Awards for Best Actress in consecutive years for Manoharam and Preminchu.
Laya did only a few movies but those roles brought her a good name. Later she got married and moved to America at the time when her career was gaining momentum.
Recently during an interview, the actress Laya said, “I never thought that I would act as a heroine in the movies and act with big artists. After getting a good craze, I had to quit the movies. Being away from the movies at such a time caused me great pain. If I say that there is no such pain, it will be a lie.”
Laya further said, “My husband never told me not to do films. He is the one who shoots all the reels that I am doing now. Earlier, I thought that my privacy would be damaged if I was on social media. But I did not think that I would be alienated from my fans. That’s why I am active on Instagram now.”
