The body of the Bangladeshi actress Raima Islam Shimu was found in a sack close to a bridge in Dhaka’s Keraniganj area. According to police report, some locals informed them about a dead body near Alipur Bridge on Monday morning. Raima Islam Shimu was brutally murdered by the criminals on Sunday as the dead body had many injury marks and then her body was dumped near the bridge. After which the police detained the actress husband Shakhawat Ali Noble, who had filed a missing complaint at the Kalabagan police station, and his driver for interrogation.
After hours of grilling her husband confessed to the crime, however the motive of murder is not yet clear. Shakhawat Ali is now on a 3-day remand. Meanwhile, the police have sent Raima Islam Shimu ‘ dead body to Mitford Hospital morgue for an autopsy and are waiting for the report.
Shakhawat Ali Noble had filed a general diary at the Kalabagan police station on Sunday claiming that his wife Raima Islam Shimu has gone missing.
She was a popular face of the Bangladeshi film and TV industry. She made her acting debut with ‘Bartaman’ which was released in 1998 and has since worked in as many as 25 movies and a few TV shows as well.
