Few days ago, the young and promising Telugu film director Nag Ashwin shared his views on movie exhibition and suggested that theaters should start serving liquor in order to revive themselves and increase footfalls in the post-coronavirus world. The director’ views did not go down well with many on social media as they told him that theaters are a place where the people visit with their families and that serving alcohol/liquor could increase chances of nuisance and instances of trouble making. His idea to serve alcohol in theaters, received a largely negative feedback. And now the talented director is back with a new idea.
Nag Ashwin took to Twitter and asked his followers what they think about drive-in theaters, like the touring talkies in the good old days. Mahanati helmer also asked his followers, “Which already released movies/classics/ favourites would u like to see at a drive in? Any language.”
Once again, Nag Ashwin’ idea is receiving the mixed response. One of the netizen Jeevana said, “Drive-ins work great for classics and films with repeat value. People who share liking for a particular film can get together and celebrate it. However, it limits the experience of specific genre films like Horror, Thriller or films with good sound design where acoustics matter.”
What do you think about drive-in theaters…outdoor car/bike park chesukoni cinema choodadam, paata kaalam touring talkies laga?
