Netflix grabs Gangubai Kathiawadi : Alia Bhatt is one of the top actress of Indian film Industry. She will be next seen playing the lead role in an upcoming woman centric movie Gangubai Kathiawadi, which is helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie is heading to theatres early next year.
The makers of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial made the big announcement a few days ago, announcing the film will be out on 6th We have already reported that the top OTT player recently grabbed the Hindi language streaming rights of Rajamouli’s magnum opus, RRR. Now, Netflix has acquired the post theatrical OTT streaming rights of Alia Bhatt starrer upcoming much hyped movie Ganguai Kathiawadi. They have paid a huge amount for the post theatrical OTT release rights of Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi was initially scheduled to release on 30th July, but the movie got pushed due to production delays. Alia Bhatt starrer is a crime-drama and is all about the story of a simple girl named Gangubai from Kathiawad who became the most powerful, and respected madams from Kamathipura during the 1960s.
Incidentally Alia Bhatt is also playing the female lead in SS Rajamouli’ magnum opus RRR, which has Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles.
