Plus Points:
· Akhil transformation
· The fight sequence before the interval
Minus points:
· Screenplay
· Second half
· VFX
· Lack of emotional scenes
Performance: Akhil Akkineni impressed the audiences with his terrific performance. Akhil does perfect justice to his role with his aggressive body language, dominating characterization and modulation. Moreover Akhil looked very wild with new looks in this movie than in his previous movies. He looked good in love scenes with the heroine and action scenes. Sakshi Vaidya also impressed with her performance. At some places her gestures and her acting are good. Another main attraction of this film is Mammootty. He impressed with his timing as always. Mammootty’s performance especially in the climax is very good. Dino Morea’s performance as the villain is also good. Murali Sharma who appeared in the role of Akhil’s father impressed with his performance. Also the rest of the actors have acted well in their roles.
Technical: Surender Reddy succeeded in utilizing the potential of Akhil. He unleashed the mass angle of the actor. However, he failed to narrate the story well in the second half. Cinematography by Rasul Ellore is good. The scenes are well shot in accordance with the mood of the movie. Naveen Nooli’s editing is good but it would have been better if he had trimmed the scenes which were not necessary for the story. AK Entertainments production values in the movie are good. The action sequences are designed well but VFX is poor . The fight sequence before the interval is whistle worthy.
Analysis: Overall Agent is just an average spy thriller drama. Not a single emotion is strongly elevated in the film. In fact, although Mammootty designed the character emotionally in the climax, it did not work out on the screen.
