Ahmedabad Hospital Fire Accident: Eight people have died after a huge fire broke out at a private hospital for coronavirus patients in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. This incident took place today early morning. About 45 patients were admitted to the 50 bed hospital at the time of accident. Rest of them have been rescued and shifted to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, a civic hospital in the city. Firefighters have managed to control the fire which broke out at the ICU of the hospital. The bodies of the 8 patients have been taken for postmortem.
India’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the deaths and said, “Saddened by the tragic hospital fire in Ahmedabad. Condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured recover soon. Spoke to CM regarding the situation.”
According to PM Modi, he has spoken to chief minister Vijay Rupani regarding the situation and assured all possible assistance to the affected. On the otherside, Vijay Rupani has ordered a probe which will be led by Additional chief secretary Sangeeta Singh. The CM Vijay Rupani has asked for a report on the matter within 3 days.
According to the latest report, the blaze broke out due to a short circuit.
