Delhi Police reached the house of Brij Bhushan Saran Singh, president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), who is facing allegations of s….ual harassment against wrestlers. 12 people related to this case came to Brij Bhushan in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda to record their statements. Names, addresses and identity cards of those who gave statements were collected for evidence. Also, many of the supporters of WFI chief were questioned. The SIT’has so far recorded the statements of 137 people in this case. But, did the police interrogate Singh too? Or? That is not known.
Earlier on April 28, the Connaught Place police had registered two FIRs against Brij Bhushan. One of them was given by the victim girl’s father. A case has been registered under the POCSO Act. Brij Bhushan Saran Singh is denying the allegations against him. He challenged that if the allegations against him are found to be true, he will hang himself.
Some of the complainants also alleged that Brij Bhushan Singh made advances to seek “s…ual favours”, promising to help them in their careers.
FIRs registered following a Supreme Court order have charged him under various Indian Penal Code sections, including assaulting a woman to outrage her modesty, s….ual harassment and stalking which are punishable with jail terms of 2-3 years.
