The court, based on a private complaint lodged by the Jana Sena Party (JSP) leaders  had recently ordered the police to book a case and conduct an inquiry into the violation of rules and exploitation of  the innocent people.

Jana Sena Party district president Gade Venkateswara Rao alleged that YSRC activists, led by Ambati, were selling Sankranti Lucky Draw tickets at a price of Rs 100 each in Sattenapalli and Guntur city. Jana Sena Party leader objected to this because there is a prohibition against lucky draw activities.

Gade Venkateswara Rao said that over 3 lakh tickets were printed and village volunteers were forcing YSR Pension Kanuka beneficiaries to purchase them. The volunteers were deducting the price of 2 or 3 tickets from the pension amount of beneficiaries.  Thecoupons had the images of Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy  and Ambati Rambabu and the lucky draw lured  the people with fancy gifts such as cars, cash price and others. The court directed the police to register a case against Ambati Rambabu and enquire the matter.  The  case has been registered under the Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes Prohibition Act.
