Indian cricket player Ambati Rayudu is standing in the headlines ever since he announced his retirement. Ambati feels that he is been overlooked twice by the selectors of the committee which he feels as disrespected. Rayudu speaking on his retirement decision said that though the opener Shikhar Dhawan and all-rounder Vijay Shankar injured, he wasn’t made in the team and he can’t hold the name of being in the standby list.

Upon this issue Team India chief selector MSK Prasad has responded in an elaborative manner and has clearly explained that there is no intention of taking any player side but just the “permutations and combinations” was the reasoning behind Ambati Rayudu’s exclusion in the World Cup team.

Team India chief selector MSK Prasad said, “How much emotions anybody (Rayudu) has gone through, the selection committee has gone through the same emotions”

He added saying, “When we pick any player and he does well, we feel so happy for him. Similarly when somebody who goes out in this way, the selection committee also feels for it. But having said that, with regards to the decision taken, it has been completely devoid of any bias or any favoritism into why we have picked Vijay Shankar, Rishabh Pant or Mayank Agarwal also”

On supporting the Rayadu aggrievedness, Prasad said that while the player was first failed in fitness selection for T20 performances, his panel is who backed him up.

Prasad on Shankar’s injury, “Once he came into the side, we backed him but due to certain permutations and combinations in the side, we couldn’t pick him”

He concluded by saying, “That (Rayudu’s exclusion) doesn’t make the selection committee or me biased about any particular person. We know how emotional Rayudu is, we are also emotional. We as ex-cricketers, also feel for him”
