Annapurna‘s daughter Keerthy, was found dead at her residence. She has allegedly committed suicide by hanging at her residence in Sri Nagar Colony in Banjara Hills. This incident took place in the early hours on Saturday.
According to the Banjara Hills police report, Annapurna daughter’s Keerthy was under medication for last six months and she was suffering from psychological problems and she was also not having proper sleep. The police said, as she was depressed due to illness, she might have forced her to resort to the extreme step.
Keerthy was married in 2013 with Venkatakrishna, a software engineer working in Bengaluru 3 years ago. Yesterday, night Venkatakrishna came here from Bengaluru and slept in another room whereas his wife Keerthy slept in bedroom. When Venkatakrishna woke up in morning, he saw Keerthy hanging from the ceiling fan. Immediately he informed Keerthy’s mother Annapurna, who is residing at nearby Godavari Block and later he informed to the police.
Keerthy’s body has been shifted to the Osmania General Hospital morgue for autopsy. The case has been registered and investigation has been started. More details are to be out yet.
Actress Annapurna is known for her portrayal as mother, mother-in-law, and grand mother, aunt, etc role in movies. She started her film career as a heroine paired with Mohan Babu (debut film) in Swargam Narakam in 1975, which was blockbuster at the box office. Annapurna also essayed the role of mother to Mohan Babu in Assembly Rowdy in 1991, which was also blockbuster in the history of Telugu film industry. In 2016, she played the role of Nikhil’s grandmother in “Ekkada ki pothavu chinnavaada,” She was also seen in today’s released movie Happy Wedding starring Niharika Konidela and Sumanth Ashwin.
