Another tragedy has struck Tollywood. Veteran Telugu actor Chalapathi Rao passed away on Sunday morning due to heart attack. He was 78. He has acted in over 600 films in a career spanning over six decades, and was last seen in the 2022 film Bangarraju starring King Nagarjuna. He has worked with a number of top stars – NT Rama Rao, Superstar Krishna, and others. He is also the father of actor-filmmaker Ravi Babu. Chalapathi Rao was best known for his comic and villainous roles in Tollywood.
Chalapathi Rao is among many veteran actors from Tollywood who passed away this year, including Kaikala Satyanarayana, Krishna and Krishnam Raju.
He has acted in many hit movies including Sarrainodu, Gulabi, Gharana Mogudu, Bommarillu, Aditya 369, Malliswari, Ninne Pelladata, and Kondaveeti Donga.
The reports are coming that , his body will be kept at his son Ravi Babu’s residence for the fans and well-wishers to pay their respects on Sunday. The last rites of Veteran Telugu actor Chalapathi Rao are likely to be performed after his daughter arrives from the United States.
