Ratsasan remake is being directed by Ramesh Varma who earlier helmed the movies Veera and Ride. And actor turned producer Havish and his father Koneru Satyanarayana are producing it. it’s original Tamil version, Vishnu Vishal and Amala Paul played the lead role. The sources say that Ramesh Varma felt that Anupama Parameswaran would perfectly fit the role of a young teacher, with her body language, expressions and performance skills making her the ideal choice for female lead. As the makers are very impressed with performance of Anupama Parameswaran, has brought her on the board to play the female lead in Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas starrer.
The sources added that the makers were apparently looking for a fresh face initially but they went ahead for an established face since they felt that could get the film a good market
Since Anupama Parameswaran hasn’t been essayed in the role of a teacher so far, she believed that the role has something interesting to offer. According to the actress, she liked the Tamil version of Ratsasan and felt that it is a coming-of-age psychological thriller. Earlier it was heard that the makers have roped Raashi Khanna but now according to the latest update, Anupama Parameswaran will be seen sharing the screen space with Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas.
Anupama Parameswaran has been the part of few hit Telugu movies like Sathamanam Bhavati, Hello Guru Prema Kosame, A..Aa, Premam etc. Currently she is making her Kannada debut with Natasaarvabhowma, directed by Pavan Wadeyar and produced by Rockline Venkatesh, in which Puneeth Rajkumar and Rachita Ram are playing the lead role.
