Casting couch is one of the most controversial aspects of the entertainment industry. A few years back, Tollywood actress Sri Reddy made allegations about casting couch that prevailed in the Telugu film industry, and Anushka Shetty was one of the actresses, who came out to speak about it. Many Telugu and Hindi actresses have broken their silence and responded to the casting couch in public and media. They have also come out with their experiences. They do not even shy away from addressing the issue.
Earlier during the promotional event of her film Nishabdham, Anushka Shetty stated that the casting couch does exist in the Telugu film industry and revealed how she has protected herself from it. She had said, ”I admit that it exists in the Tollywood but I never had to face it because I was straightforward.”
According to Rudhramadevi fame actress, her straightforward attitude never gave a chance for anyone to exploit her.
Earlier Rakul Preet Singh also spoke on Casting couch and said, ‘’I personally have done so many movies and I have never, ever come across a single person who has tried to act funny with me. Talent is what survives, and your hard work is going to get you places.”
