Recently there was a strong buzz in the film industry that legendary filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasarao is planning to helm a biopic based on the life of yesteryear Carnatic singer and women’s rights activist Bangalore Nagarathamma.  Set in the pre-independent India, this prestigious biopic will be bankrolled under the banner of People Media Factory. Now according to the latest buzz in the film industry, Singeetam Srinivasarao is planning to approach a star actress and she is none other than Anushka Shetty. If everything will go accordingly, Anushka Shetty will be seen playing the titular role Singeetam Srinivasarao.

 Singeetam Srinivasarao was an Indian Carnatic singer, cultural activist, scholar, and courtesan. Singeetam  Nagarathnamma built a temple over the samadhi of the Carnatic singer Tyagaraja at Thiruvaiyaru.  Nagarathnamma was among the last practitioners of Devadasi tradition in our country India and the first president of the Association of the Devadasis of Madras Presidency.

 On the other side, Anushka Shetty will be seen in the upcoming film Nishabdham in which she will be seen sharing the screen space with  R Madhavan. The thriller drama Nishabdham is directed by Hemant Madhukar and it also has Anjali, Michael Madsen, Subbaraju, Shalini Pandey and Srinivas Avasarala in supporting roles.

As a lead actress, Anushka was last seen in thriller drama Bhaagamathie, which was released in  2018.
