YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has issued orders extending the SC/ST sub-plan for another ten years.

The orders were issued by the secretary to Legal and Legislative Affairs  and  Justice under the law department through GO- Ms-7 on 22nd January 2023.

The state government has extended the sub plan for the development of SCs and STs in Andhra Pradesh for another ten years. An ordinance was issued to this effect on Sunday. The state government has decided to extend the scheme for another ten years as the SC and ST Sub-Plan Act, announced with a ten-year time limit for the welfare and development of Dalits and Tribals in the United States, is set to expire on January 23. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken a decision to continue the sub-plan which is crucial for the development of Dalits and tribals. On the other hand, Dalit communities are talking about canceling the welfare schemes and extending the sub-plan.

It has been ten years since the SC and ST Sub Plan came into force in AP state. As the term of the sub plan is going to expire today, the AP government has taken steps to extend the sub plan for another 10 years. An ordinance was issued extending the sub-plan. The law will be amended in the upcoming assembly sessions. The government has announced that the state government has issued an ordinance with the approval of the governor as the sub-plan is about to expire. Many expressed happiness over the government’s decision. Ministers of Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare Departments as well as public representatives thanked CM.
