Arnab Goswami’ house was raided by the Maharashtra Police’s Raigad Unit during the early hours of Wednesday. And now according to the latest update, Arnab Goswani has been arrested by Maharashtra Police in the abetments of a suicide, that took place in the year 2018.
Interior designer Anvay Naik, along with his mother Kumud Naik, were found dead at their bungalow in Alibaug in the month of May 2018. The police said Anvay Naik, had committed suicide, the post mortem report of Kumud Naik indicated that she had been strangulated and did not end her life by committing suicide.
According to the police, Anvay Naik killed Kumud before committing suicide. After that the police registered accidental death report and a case of murder. Kumud’ body was found on the ground floor sofa, the body of Anvay was found hanging on the first floor by the caretaker of the bungalow.
The police had found a suicide note in which Anvay said he and his mother decided to take the extreme step on account of payments due to them not being cleared by the owners of three companies – television journalist Arnab Goswami, Feroz Shaikh of IcastX/Skimedia and Niteish Sarda of Smartworks.
A popular TV channel slammed the way Arnab Goswami was handled by the Police, and heavily criticized the Maharashtra Police handling the editor of a top channel.
