K R Sachidanandan aka Sachy is one of the popular directors from the south film industry. The director cum screenwriter who helmed the Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer blockbuster movie Ayyappanum Koshiyum has been hospitalized after he suffered a cardiac arrest.  The reports are coming that director Sachy has been put under critical care and is on ventilator.

Sachy was admitted to the Jubilee Mission Medical College Hospital in Thrissur. He has been undergoing treatment after he suffered a cardiac arrest post a hip replacement surgery. Ayyappanum Koshiyum  helmer Sachy had undergone a hip replacement surgery and few hours post the operation, he suffered a cardiac arrest and later he was shifted to another hospital. A multi-disciplinary team is involved in his care.

Hospital sources say that Sachy’ condition is critical. The director was brought to the hospital after having the  cardiac arrest and that has cut off blood supply to his brain. His brain has suffered some damage.

Sachy’ first directorial venture was ‘Anarkali’, which was released in 2015. However, with his recently released movie ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’, Sachy shot into the big league, which is all about an ego battle between two men, essayed by Prithviraj and Biju Menon. The movie became a blockbuster and is being remade in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi language. Sachy is also the writer of another super hit film Driving License.
