Baahubali Before the Beginning Prequel Series by NetfilxThe Baahubali: Before the Beginning Prequel Series by Netfilx promises to build on the incredible narrative style of the franchise – including epic story-telling, high production values and spectacular visuals.

Video streaming major Netflix on Thursday announced a new Netflix original series based on blockbuster Baahubali franchise, called “Baahubali: Before the Beginning”. In a two season order, Baahubali: Before the Beginning, will be a prequel to Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Baahubali 1 and Baahubali 2, the historic and war drama by S.S. Rajamouli starring Young Rebel Star Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannah Bhatia, Ramya Krishna, and others, broke several records in 2015 and 2017, and created history at the box office. The period action drama were set in the Mahishmati Kingdom.

Netflix has commissioned two seasons as of now. Baahubali: Before The Beginning- Season one will have 9 episodes and is based on Anand Neelakantan’s book, The Rise of Sivagami.  It will be jointly directed by Deva Katta of Prasthanam  fame and Praveen Sattaru of Guntur Talkies and PSV Garuda Vega fame whereas will be bankrolled in association with Arka Media and Rajamouli.

 Baahubali: Before the Beginning Prequel Series will trace the journey of Sivagami from a rebellious and vengeful girl to a wise queen. Ramya Krishnan essayed the role of  Sivagami.  Streaming giant, Netflix has partnered with Arka Media Works and Rajamouli for the series. Further details such as casting, release dates and budgets will be out very soon.

Netflix had earlier snapped up the rights to stream both the Baahubali series for a reported $4 million. The original Baahubali movies are currently available on Netflix.

Rival Amazon Prime Video had also partnered with Arka Mediaworks and Graphic India to launch an animated series called “Baahubali: The Lost Legends” in April last year.
