Baahubali film maker SS Rajamouli , turned down a chance to attend the 10th Bengaluru International Film Festival this year. Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy chairman Dr. S.V. Rajendra Singh Babu angrily calls an insult to people and CM Siddaramaiah, who heads the event.
Rajamouli has invited the wrath of Dr S.V. Rajendra Singh Babu as he ignored the special invite for the program overseen by CM of the state Siddaramaiah.
Babu said the present venue (PVR cinemas, Orion Mall) may not be available for the next edition of BIFFES. He further said, “They have complained about our demands with regard to various issues. Reserving screens exclusively for the festival, for an entire week has also been a challenge. The commercial films that release during this time face the heat because fewer screens are available. Hence they are unlikely to host the festival next year.”
The festival started on a high note, with a significant increase in the number of registered delegates and a line up of films that definitely inspires pride. The seven-day festival will feature 200 films from across the world besides various seminars and workshops on cinema. Around 50 of the chosen movies have been received Academy Award nominations.
On the workside, SS Rajamouli is currently busy in his next upcoming multistarrer in which Ram Charan and Young Tiger Jr.NTR will play the lead roles. The upcoming untitled film will go on the floors very soon.
