A police case has been registered against Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party- BJP President Bandi Sanjay. Police have registered non-bailable cases against Bandi Sanjay and 4 others for causing tension at Kamareddy Collectorate. Cases under 11 sections including sections 147,148,353, 323,290, 341, 427, 149 of the Public Property Act have been registered at Kamareddy Devarapalli police station. Along with BJP President Bandi Sanjay, the police have registered a case against Enugu Ravinder Reddy and other BJP leaders. Bandi Sanjay along with BJP leaders visited Kamareddy Collectorate on Friday evening. BJP workers, sought to enter the collectorate to meet with the collector but was denied entry, and several BJP workers were injured in the scuffle when police caned the protesters. This created a tense situation in front of the collector’s gate. In the context of the tense atmosphere, the police arrested Bandi Sanjay and took him away. A police van was partially damaged when BJP supporters prevented the police officials from transferring Sanjay.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar was arrested on Friday night at the Kamareddy district collectorate amid heightened tensions while leading a protest in support of the farmers agitating against the Telangana government’s move to convert farmland into an industrial zone.
The former Zilla parishad chairmar, Senior Congress leader Mohammad Ali Shabbir, and BJP leader K.P.Venkataramana Reddy, Kisan Congress state president Sunket Anvesh Reddy, and the district Congress committee president Kailas Srinivas Rao were among those arrested.
