Telugu comedian turned film producer Bandla Ganesh got arrested by Jubilee Hills police on Wednesday. He was taken into custody following a complaint by prominent businessman and producer Potluri Vara Prasad (PVP).
The Potluri Vara Prasad (PVP), complained at Jubilee Hills PS on the 5th of this month in October that Bandla Ganesh had to return Rs 7 Cr out of Rs 30 Cr that he took at the time of making action entertainer Temper starring Young Tiger Jr NTR and Kajal Aggarwal. In the complaint, PVP has also alleged that Bandla Ganesh’s men threatened him at his residence.
Bandla Ganesh was booked under sections 420, 448, 506 r / w, 43 of IPC. Bandla Ganesh was arrested yesterday evening after PVP filed cases against him. Meanwhile, the actor himself took to Twitter to refute the reports of his arrest, by saying that he was just called for questioning.
According to Potluri Vara Prasad (PVP), Bandla Ganesh owes him Rs 7 crore. Bandla Ganesh had borrowed Rs 34 crore from PVP to make Temper movie, which released in 2015. Though he paid the actual amount, he has been accused of not paying the interest amount.
Recently PVP filed a case against him in Jubilee Hills police station when Bandla Ganesh sent his men to allegedly intimidate Potluri Vara Prasad from pursuing the cheating case against him, for which Bandla Ganesh filed a counter-complaint with Banjara Hills police alleging that Potluri Vara Prasad had threatened of abducting him.
Earlier Temper’ writer had also accused Bandla Ganesh of cheating him by not paying his remuneration of Rs 26 lakhs.
According to the police report, Bandla Ganesh has also cheated a financer, Mahesh from Kadapa, to the tune of Rs 10 lakh. Bandla Ganesh gave a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to Mahesh a few months ago, which was dishonored by the bank following which the latter filed a police complaint against him.
