BCCI picks new head coach: Cricket Advisory Committee submits its declaration

On the verge of selecting the new head coach for the Indian team, BCCI has asked the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC). And there was tension gripping on whom would CAC selects as the head coach for the Indian team, on to this, the members of Cricket Advisory Committee has submitted its declaration forms on ‘conflict of interest’ issue ahead of interviews. CAC comprises of former captain Kapil Dev, former coach Anshuman Gaekwad and former women’s captain Shanta Rangaswamy.

On speaking to the media meet, a senior BCCI official said that “Before the committee members conduct interviews to pick the new support staff, it’s a regular procedure for them to declare their activities to ascertain if they fall in the conflict of interest purview. It’s mandatory for all, even the commentators. The BCCI Ethics officer will look into it now”

He further added that there some sort of misinformation is being spread among one of the CAC members that they have the conflict of interest but it is not the case as of now. Whereas, few sources said that Gaekwad has confirmed that his son runs a cricket academy that runs on the age group.
