The rift between director Shankar and the production house Lyca Productions is known to everyone by now. Lyca Productions have alleged that Shankar without completing Indian 2 cannot move on to another project.
They have also revealed that the budget has gone overboard. “We have planned Rs. 150 Crores as the budget for Indian 2 but it already crossed Rs. 236 Crores with only 80 percent of the shooting completed.
Shankar is taking home Rs. 40 Crores as the remuneration and Rs. 14 Crores we have paid it in advance,” said Lyca productions in a statement.
However, Madras High Court has said that they cannot withhold Shankar from moving on to his next project. However, they have asked Shankar for clarity on this issue. The next hearing will be on the 15th of this month. It is known that Shankar has announced his next project with Ram Charan in the lead role.
