Varun Tej starrer Valmiki is progressing at the brisk pace in the direction of Harish Shankar. Valmiki is the remake of Tamil hit Jigarthanda, which is being produced by Ram and Gopi Achanta. According to a source however, all is not well between the producers and the director Harish Shankar. Harish Shankar’ demands has become the biggest problem for the producers of Valmiki. The sources say that Harish Shankar is asking for full remuneration before the release of Valmiki and the theatrical rights of a few areas like Vizag and Krishna, which has irked the producers- Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta.
Apparently, Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava and Maharshi fame Pooja Hegde, who has a small role in the film for which she has allotted 20 days, and she is going to get big remuneration. Initially, the director Harish Shanakr told them that he would complete Valmiki within a budget of Rs 20 Cr, but now it has increased.
The sources added that Varun Tej is busy in doing his work and he is not supporting either of the parties. As the film is coming close to completion, the producers are worried.
Valmiki is bankrolled under the banner of 14 Reels Plus LLP whereas it has the music by Mickey J Meyer. Karthik Subbaraj has penned the story and Chota K Prasad is handling the editing of the film. Valmiki also has Kollywood actor Atharvaa Murali in supporting roles. The movie is slated to hit the theaters on 8th September.
