Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukherji was released on 9th September. However, the film, which also stars Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan aka Big B, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy along with special appearances by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Said to be one of the biggest releases of recent times, Brahmastra witnessed unseen advance bookings for a non-holiday release. Now according to the traders report, Brahmastra failed to beat the collections record of SS Rajamouli’ magnum opus RRR and Yash and Prashanth Neel’ action drama KGF 2 in Australia.

Brahmastra collected A$305,085 whereas RRR and KGF 2 had collected A$702,495 and A$501,332 on day 1 at the box office of Australia.
In overseas markets, Brahmastra, which has been released across 3894 screens has been witnessing incredible trends in these markets. In fact, in Australia, the film has seen a release across Event, Hoyts, and Village chains, along with art house chain Palace Cinemas, making this yet another first for an Indian film.
The film Brahmastra was made at a budget of Rs 410 cr, making it the most expensive film of Bollywood. Previously, this record was held by YRF’s Thugs of Hindostan which was made at around Rs 310 cr.
