Vijaya Sai Reddy claimed in Rajya Sabha that the Union Budget has highly disappointed his party. He further said that if the budget allocations are rationalised, AP government is spending 5.9% of its budget on agriculture whereas the govt of India’s share is 3.9% and AP’s budget allocations were 11.8% on education.

He pointed out the inflation, and raked up the tax slabs rates. The cumulative inflation is 48% from 2014 to 2022 while the tax exemption slabs remained same and this is a strange situation. In order to file tax returns, one has to pick up the five TDS documents, then it should be brought into one roof.

Regarding subsidies, he mentioned the issues on food and fertilisers. He also raised about Polavaram project, Kadapa Steel Plant, Chennai Industrial Corridor etc.
