Chal Mohan Ranga Story: Mohan Ranga (Nithiin) lands in USA on a temporary visa and soon he finds a person who can sponsor H1B for him to continue in USA. He falls for Megha (Megha Akash) in a road trip in USA. When they want to confess their love for one another, they back off due to several relationship conflicts. What happens then? How will Ranga win Mega’s heart again? To get these answers, one should watch the movie on silver screen.
- Predictable storyline
- Few Dragged Scenes
Performance: It is Nithiin’s 25th film and he has improved his comic timing. His performance as the helpless guy is appreciable. His dance moves especially for ‘Peddha puli’ song deserves lot of applause Megha Akash looks cute. Both of them have given their best. Prabhas Srinu tried to evoke good laughs in between. Satya, Narra Srinu, Rao Ramesh, Madhu and others performed accordingly.
Technical: The movie has a predictable storyline but dashed with Trivikram Srinivas mark witty dialogues and punches throughout. The cinematography by Nataraja Subramanian is colourful. His camera work is eye-candy. The music scored by S Thaman is good. He also impressed with the background score. The editing by S R Shekar is neat. The choreography by Shekar is impressive. The stunts by Stunt Shiva and Ravi Varma are good. The production values are grand. The director Krishna Chaitanya makes things better by adding some light-hearted moments but there is not much feel in the love story. The love track did not work much, as the main focus remained on comedy only.
Analysis: Overall Chal Mohan Ranga is routine romantic drama which has some good moments. The first half of the film is situational comedy and it was shot entirely in the USA. Second half, after the lead pair moves to Ooty there are three non-stop comedy sequences which are the crux of this romantic entertainer. The makers tried to present the story in a comic way. Though the film is not upto the mark in terms of story, the makers tried their best to present the movie in an entertaining manner.
