Chinmayanand rape case: HC expresses dissatisfaction

The twists in the latest rape case of BJP leader and former Union minister Swami Chinmayanand seem to be in-consistent. From the latest update, Allahabad High Court has expressed serious dissatisfaction with the status report provided by the Sitting Investigation Team(SIT), over the sexual assault case on a law student.

Further, the bench that comprises of judges Manoj Mishra and Manju Rani Chauhan has refused to consider the petition filed by the student that was booked under the extortion case. Judges asserted that the court has no jurisdiction to pass the order.

It was known that SIT has submitted a status report in the court and the student along with her three friends was booked along with a woman under the grounds of vanishing the evidence on the student’s petition. On speaking to this court said, “If the victim wants any relief in this regard, she may file a fresh petition before an appropriate bench.” Court has scheduled the next hearing on this case on October 22nd.
