The popular Singer and composer Bappi Lahiri breathed his last at a Mumbai hospital today. He was 69 years old. The veteran singer had tested positive for Covid-19 in the month of April last year. Throughout his four-decade-long career, he gave Bollywood some super hits. Bappi Lahiri was being treated for multiple illnesses.
He was brought to the hospital after his health deteriorated on Tuesday night and doctors tried to revive him but they couldn’t. After hearing the news of the sudden demise of Bappi Lahiri, megastar Chiranjeevi took to Twitter and mourned the demise of the musician by posting a throwback pic and a note.
Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy fame Chiranjeevi wrote, “Deeply anguished at the demise of legendary Music director & Singer Bappi Lahiri. I had a great association with Bappi da. He gave numerous chartbusters for me which contributed immensely to my films popularity. He will always be remembered for his unique style & his great enthusiasm for life which is reflected in his pular music. My heartfelt condolences to all his near and dear.”
India’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wrote on Twitter: Shri Bappi Lahiri Ji’s music was all encompassing, beautifully expressing diverse emotions. People across generations could relate to his works. His lively nature will be missed by everyone. Saddened by his demise. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.
