Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateswara, was caught in a massive flood of unprecedented scale on Thursday. Darshan of the Lord was virtually stalled as pilgrims could not venture out because of the inundation. Japali Anjaneya Swamy temple on Tirumala was inundated and idol of the Lord submerged. The extreme flooding was witnessed in Tirupati on Thursday, which left hundreds of pilgrims stranded as heavy downpour lashed the temple town of Andhra Pradesh State. Multiple visuals were posted on social media sites that shows inundated Tirumala hills, where the main temple of Lord Venkateswar is located. Megastar Chiranjeevi appealed to the State Government, TTD, all political parties, fans and associations and good Samaritans to extend all possible help to restore normalcy as soon as possible.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams officials made arrangement for the free food and accommodation for the pilgrims.
TTD Executive Officer K S Jawahar Reddy also declared a holiday on Friday for the office staff in view of the situation.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy spoke to Chittoor district Collector M Hari Narayanan and reviewed the situation, and he also asked the Collector to closely monitor the water levels.
