After wrapping up the shoot of his ongoing project Acharya which is being helmed by Koratala Siva, Megastar Chiranjeevi will be working on the remakes of the Malayalam hit political drama ‘Lucifer’ under the direction of Mohan Raja and the remake of Tamil film ‘Vedalam’. Meher Ramesh has been roped in to helm this remake. The film Vedalam, starring Kollywood star Thala Ajith, was set in the Kolkata backdrop. Now according to the buzz in the film industry, Megastar Chiranjeevi is unable to get over the backdrop of Kolkata and Telugu version of Vedalam will also have Kolkata backdrop.
Megastar had Sweet memories of Kolkata backdrop. He scored hits like Chudalani Undi and Khaidi No 150 with Kolkata backdrop. And the buzz in that Vedalam remake also has a Kolkata backdrop. Apparently, Meher Ramesh has not made too many changes to the script except for a minor tweaking to adapt it to Telugu sensibilities.
Vedalam remake will also have a young actress as Chiranjeevi’ sister. Noted producer Anil Sunkara is bankrolling this much awaited remake.
Currently Chiranjeevi is romancing with Kajal Aggarwal in his social message oriented movie Acharya in which Ram Charan will play a cameo and the makers are planning to rope Pooja Hegde opposite Charan.
